Same Sex Marriage

I view marriage as a religious matter and not something that government should be allowed to define as our religious freedoms are protected. Each religion and the members of that religion must make their own determination on the acceptance of same sex marriage.

If government needs to define a family unit or dependent unit to enforce certain laws/taxes, I would be in support of same-sex dependent relationships.

From a legislation standpoint I would be a strong advocate for REPEALING DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act). The Government should not care what 2 people choose to do with their lives. Anything less than equal treatment under the law is not acceptable. This standard goes for Race, Gender, Physical Characteristics, Gender Preference or any other item that could be the root of discrimination.
